When a painter’s work asserts what can best be described as an aggressive argument for beauty, one gets the sense that the deconstruction of the art world has come full circle at last. Robert Rahway Zakanitch’s work – unflinching contrivances of color, form, texture and scale – is iconoclastic for the simplest of reasons: its sheer pursuit of beauty. PR is Dead, Communication is In

Let’s qualify that, just a bit. PR as commonly used (the placement of client news in the media) is dead–just as traditional media outlets are transforming and usage trends indicate that folks are forging an entirely new way to consume media.

As a cultural communications firm, we spend a lot of time looking at and analyzing people’s behavior, and what we’ve found out about people today is startlingly different than the 20th century.

Ferus Gallery Res(e)rected at Bergamot Station

Yes, you read that right. L.A.’s legendary Ferus Gallery will be replicated in full (all 400 sq. ft.), inside Samuel Freeman’s Bergamot Station art gallery in Santa Monica, California. The exhibition will feature work by Billy Al Bengston, on the 50th anniversay (to the day) of his 1960 solo show at the Ferus Gallery.

This exhibition is open to the public, 11am-6pm, Tues-Sat, Feb 16-Mar 13, 2010.
